A very favorite home-based business client - Pam Schram, Ponca, NE.

Lately I've been thinking a lot about the clients I love to work with the most and who I feel I can help the best. And while I've loved most of my clients in the past 8 years I've been in business I've discovered my passion is for home-based women business owners.
Here are my reasons why they're my favorite and why they benefit from my help:
- I'm a home-based women business owner! So I understand them completely.
- Their issues are exactly what I am an expert in: Balancing home/work, organizing the home and office, handling all the paper and email, marketing a home-based business, and prioritizing what to do each day.
- I've made all the mistakes and learned from them and can now offer the best tools to be more focused, more productive, be a more confident woman, make more money in your business, and have more fun! While having your own business is a lot of work it is also a TON of fun!
- Every lesson I learned as a stay-at-home mom of five children for 19 years applies in the business world and every business principle I've learned in the past 8 years as a business owner apply at home. This is amazing! As a speaker I get to share these principles all over the country and see women's lives change dramatically. I'll be sharing these 'lessons from a mom of 5' in upcoming newsletters.
It doesn't get any better than this!
I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving and give yourself some time to write in your gratitude journal all you are thankful for. We are truly blessed beyond measure!
Fearlessly yours,
Elizabeth
In 1985 my husband and I had 4 children under the age of 5 1/2! Wow! I look back and wonder how did I do it?!
With 4 small children my nights were as busy as my days. There was usually someone sick or needing something during the night. I don't think we ever got a full night's sleep! I quickly realized that the best thing for the entire family (especially me!) was to make sure the house and the family was ready for the next day the night before. I was a much better person when I woke up ready for the day instead of already starting behind.
These are the things I did to prepare for next day the night before:
- The whole family had a 'pick-up' time. We put on some catchy music and we all pitched in and got the house straightened up.
- When we cleaned up the kitchen from supper we set the table for breakfast.
- At that same time I thought about the meals for the next day and started some of the tasks.
- I looked at the calendar for the next day and made sure that the school backpacks were ready, lunches made, permission slips signed, etc.
- The kids decided on what they were going to wear and I made sure to mend the button, iron the shirt, etc.
- In the morning I was up before the kids, showered, dressed, and ready for the day. When they woke up I never felt rushed.
Applications to your business:
- Before you leave your office for the day file loose papers, empty the trash, and put things away.
- Look at your business calendar for the next day and start getting things ready. This will save you from scrambling in the morning trying to find that certain piece of paper.
- Check your Tickler File in your Command Center and prioritize your tasks for the next day.
- If you take work home empty your briefcase of what you don't need and only take what you need to work on.
- Before you go to bed decide on what you're going to wear and make sure the items are ready to go.
- Get up 15 minutes early. You won't believe what a difference this will make. First it gives you some quiet time which is essential and second you'll be able to take your time which will make you a much more pleasant person in the morning!
